The work of St. Andrew's is divided into teams using the Greek word for love, AGAPE. The tasks and projects within these groups are accomplished by committees and teams. Committees generally meet monthly, virtually or in person, for one or two hours; individual tasks may be longer or shorter. Use the form below to volunteer or request additional information on any activity. We will connect you with the appropriate committee chairperson.


Artist activities -  using our creative talents through worship, music, and the arts.

Worship Arts Committee - organize and undertake actions surrounding services.

Ushers - receive and seat guests, collect offering . 10 Minutes.

Communion servers - distribute convenient elements during service, 2nd Sunday monthly, 5 Minutes. Sign up here.

Transcription Team - transcribe weekly sermon into printed form. 1-2 Hours/week.

Audio/video Team - operate sound and video systems during services and special events. 1.5 hours

            Choir - sing during our 11:00 a.m. service and an occasional other special events; rehearse Wednesday evenings. 1.5 hour rehearsal.


Guardian activities -  caring for our church home, building and grounds.

Administrative/Personnel Committee - oversee organizational and administrative activities of the church; Maintain church policies and procedures. 1-2 Hours monthly.

Building & Grounds Committee - take care of routine and periodic maintenance and upkeep of the building. Time commitment varies.

Finance Committee - prepare and oversee church budget, review monthly income and expenses, oversee church contracts and fundraising. 1.5 Hours monthly.

Men’s Breakfast - 1st Saturday monthly to discuss current issues and undertake projects. 2 Hours monthly.

Safety Committee - monitor church lobby during services, lock up building after services. 1.5 Hour.

Stewardship Committee - plan and produce annual stewardship (pledge drive) campaign during the fall. Varies, generally  during September and October.


Ambassador activities - caring for our world and external communities through addressing needs.

Earth Care Committee - plan and participate in activities benefiting the planet earth and humanity. 1-2 hours,  2nd Sunday of each month.

Immigrant Support Committee - coordinate and support activities designed to assist immigrant individuals and families and those seeking sanctuary within our church. Can include providing transportation for those in sanctuary. 2 hours/week, generally remote meetings.

Mission Committee - coordinate overall mission services of the church such as food pantry, homeless support and community outreach ministry events.

  • Cold Weather Shelter team - provides overnight lodging and meals for the homeless on nights designated by the city of Austin as cold weather warnings.
  • Thursday night  team -  hot meal, showers, and light laundry services for our area unhoused neighbors on Thursdays from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Orientation required for volunteers.
  • Food Pantry team - provides commissary services for qualified individuals and families on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month have a 9:00 a.m. -  12:00 p.m..
  • Food preparation team - two hours each week prior to food pantries packaging and preparing food for distribution food distribution services dash processing in enrollment of individuals and handy out of food items during food pantry Saturdays. 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 2nd and 4th Saturdays.
  • Food Pickup team - Drivers for trips to Central Texas food bank (South Austin) Friday mornings parent to pick up food donations generally requiring a pickup truck or large van and ability to handle 50 LB packages of food (in bed late to sign up sheet)
  • Garden group – planting, caring for and harvesting produce from the church community garden. Weeding, watering and planting. Time commitment varies
  • Seasonal events – Community Thanksgiving dinner (prepare, serve and clean up); tamale sales (fundraising event in Fall).

Social Justice Committee - plan and participate in a variety of social justice activities including demonstrations at the Texas Capitol, marches and demonstrations in support of current social justice concerns, and support for equal rights for all.


Pastoral Care activities - caring from one another within our congregation.

Congregational Care Committee - provide direct support for members of the congregation who have physical, emotional or spiritual needs. Time varies.

Hospitality Committee - provide snacks, set up and clean up for Sunday morning services. One Sunday per month, 1.5 hours per Sunday.


Education activities – plan and provide for the ongoing educational needs of the congregation from child and youth through adult.

Youth and Children's Committee - Assists with youth and child Sunday school and events during services. 1.5 hours per week. Background check required.

Library Committee - manages and maintains church library. 1-2 hours/month
